Football and Me

It was a wonderful time last night as I, the unaware of such football frenzy since I last met Rick L. who was from Sheffield, UK (maybe 1999??), was finally in one with all the crowd who are just going to kill for football.

Yesterday after work, I was in Marina Mall hunting summer short dresses to ease the heat these days, simultaneously wishing time would stand still as Dana waits for my arrival in Le Meridien NRG. Not only that, Brian and Djahanne were waiting for me to pick them up. Studio R have sale and I went crazy. As in real crazy. Check my Shopping Notes to see why.

Dana was with Kareem at the NRG, reserving seats for us since 7pm and fighting with men who were mad at them.

Dana was all dressed in patriotism to France- red white and blue blouse and stick-on body stickers on her arm and shoulder blades. Dana- too sexy. Uhuh.

First game we watched was the France vs. Switzerland match which ended with a 0-0 standing. Aaw. The game ended at around 1:15 and we were entertained by four dancers who gracefully liven up the crowd with their half-covered well-sculpted bodies and staccato dancing. Samba, salsa, shakira. It was a lovely break from the football even frustrating game.

Second game was the one everyone has been waiting for. Brazil versus Croatia. Dana went to the loo to change her outfit, now it great reverence to Brazil. She painted her cheeks number 10 and the other side the Brazilian flag. She wore white sweat pants with yellow and green on the side, while her top was a white and green with yellow markings on it. Well, I bet you know the colors that are with Brazil. Oh, I must not forget Dana’s bandana on her head and her stickers, yup, newly stuck stickers on her arms of some Brazilian something.

It is weird, like some chant was being said by the crowd during the football match. And so the game begins…

Things in the football players’ heads:

Croatia Team: Oh my God!! We are playing against BRAZIL!!!
Brazil Team: Oh my God!!! We are BRAZIL!!!

Kaka is so cute. Ronaldhino, hmn-huh. Ronaldo, yeah baby.

It ended with Kaka having made one goal, thus Brazil 1, Croatia 0. Who doesn’t know that exactly??

The crowd cheered. The dancers came back and the men just roared.

Note to self: No PDAs please. It is embarrassing and pushy. So, please back off a bit.

FootBall!!!!
