Here comes the rain....

I want to be kind and true in all my actions, nice and gentle in all my gestures that I may glorify God’s name.

Today it rained again in Abu Dhabi. Just a few days back I was talking to a friend, I was asking God when He will make it rain in UAE and whoa. What do you know, this is the second day that it has rained. It’s a bleak morning but with a poignant sensation to it, like welcoming a long lost inspiration. Children frolic everywhere playing with the dew drops upon them, splashing water from the ground. Their feet prancing, dancing, while women have a look on their faces which even they cannot finish, a look of grimace almost at the thought of the dewdrops ruining their painted faces while in between they try to smirk and be joyful at the wonderful rainy day that has not been here for quite sometime.

I love the rain in all its grandeur, in all its bleakness, in all its coldness. It is one of my most encouraging inspirations. Below is an old poem of mine.

Rain
You start bursting out and rapidly play
The lyre, the piano? Can't tell which thing.
Like a mad singer you sing
Beating loudly upon my roof
Striking the keyboards, whistling
Along with the troop.

People stop and relax
And listen to your music
You reach out and chant to everyone
Even to my lonely window pane.

Your sound flows and fills the room
Echoing and droning your mysterious song.

Murmuring the words you go on
With that haunting tune.
I listen to the soft trickling notes
Of this smooth flailing ballad
It has no lyrics, yet its a song
