Robbie! Robbie! Robbie!! Imac!! Huh?

Yesterday, the Friday of the week, supposedly my rest day. I woke up at around 12 noon (very good considering we were up till 4 in the morning for shisha and talks with Loi, Esmi, Djahan, Francois, and Anna) to do laundry, clean the flat and I was having a blast doing these. My dirty laundry were either wet and in spin dry when I got a call from Djahan.

Me: "Helloo??" (in a weird tone)
Djahan: "Ayayayayahahahahahh!"
Me: "What???"
Djahan: "Ayayayayayyaa I got another free ticket for the Robbie Williams Concert!!"
Me: "Ayayayayyayayayaaaa.... What about my laundry????""
Djahan: "Come we will go now, we will take the bus because we need to go by 5pm to meet Gary!!!"
Me: "Aaarrggghhhhh!!" "Oh no!!!"

And the world was in chaos..... My laundry was left to hang and dry for themselves.

Anyways, we reached Dubai by 5pm and the stadium was starting to crowd. We sat on the grass for sometime while waiting for the concert to start. We had beer and met new people. It was around 9pm when Robbie got out to see the crowd while Djahan was in the loo. Hainaku.

There was a crowd of approximately 23,000 people. They said it was the most huge crowd of any concert in Dubai so far. It was held in Nad El Sheba grand stadium. It was a place where camel races are held. Yes we saw a bunch of camels on our way there.

Since were like 150meters away from Robbie, he came to look like a liliputian. Everyone was chanting, "Robbie, Robbie, Robbie"! I was like "IMac, Ibook, IPod! IMac, Ibook, Ipod!" Hainaku. I have gotten crazy since stepping foot in that Mac/Apple Store which newly opened in Abu Dhabi Mall. What??? IMac? IBook? Ipod? Yay!

Although Robbie was a diminutive figure from where we stood, it was a good thing to be there. He is a good artist and what's great is he seems to be so cool not like other divas we hear or know of. But it would have been better if I was up closer to where he was. Well, a free ticket is a free ticket.

He was complaining about that portion of the stage where it was unstable though. He said it is dangerous specially when he was performing "let me entertain you". Slack organizers. Hmp! Had Robbie William fallen from that shaky portion of the strage, the organizers would have been castrated like what should be done with Lewis. Opps.

I like his song "I just wanna feel real love" and that "you think that Im strong.. You're wrong.." And no, he didn't sing "Something beautiful". Everyone has been asking about it. I wore the green band the organizers gave us for two more days because it seemed so cute on my wrist.

My sister Yvonne is an avid fan of Robbie Williams. I have heard of him through her way back 5 or 6 years ago. I called her before I went to the concert and she asked me to get an autographed CD. I got her a t-shirt though. The cd I can get it from Virgin Music shop and I can sign it. It's Robbie's loss he didn't see me.

Have fun!
