Swan Lake & Cueshe

So, eventually, we went to watch Swan Lake at the Emirates Palace auditorium. Sarah was dressed in Black and White Polka dotted dress and she was donned with a cold. Heba was dressed in Black and white lined dress, Mayze was in jeans and in a formal jacket, I was wearing my blue and white silk dress. Karin's Mom was with us. She is a beautiful and kind sight among us.

I did not get a copy of the program. I was late. They left my ticket at the reception, I was half an hour late. It was well arranged and I saw a glimpse of that rude Filipina but she disappeared quicker than a glimpse. She must have been reprimanded by their HR. I have called their office previously to complain about her attitude. I will tell you more of my incidents with my so-called kababayan.

There was a scene which almost made me cry in the Swan Lake. The orchestra was perfect, the organist was awesome. The stage was very grand and the ballerinas look like swans, of course. The guys looked so naked though. You can just see every shape of their sinew on their legs with those tight tights. Can't they wear double tights instead?

Anyways, there were two cute little girls who were seated 4 rows before us and during intermission, they would twirl around and around with the music played by the orchestra. It was a lovely bonus on the show.

I remember my classmate named Rosario, she was the best ballerina in town. Her mom was a strict disciplinarian and she made sure her daughter would excel and be famous. And she did but it was shortlived because Rosario has fallen in love and gotten married before she could even start her college training at the Cultural Center for the Philippines.

I used to take ballet lessons and remember my feet getting cramped when it was time to lift them on the beam. How I loved ballet but my teachers were too slow or something, or maybe there were too many students. My sister and I were together for the ballet classes and we had all sorts of tights and leotards but I love the "gaiters" in all their colors.

I was driving towards the Emirates Palace and because I was rushing, I didn't realize I was driving in 100speed. Eww. I should not do that again.

I was going home at 8o'clock pm when my phone continuously rang. I did not bother picking it up coz I was driving. When I was near my place, I looked and it was this girl I know from Dubai. She has sent me text as well asking me if I would like to watch concert of the Cueshe as they are performing in Abu Dhabi Crowne Plaza.

I am not really a fan of them but I heard about them through my cousin Bea. So, I did not want to pass the opportunity, I called her and said yes. She told me to bring one more person so I would not be bored. I tried calling people but they would not pick up. So I left messages.

I went to the Cueshe and as I was sitting on the chair at one corner, (there were only like 30 young kids at the ballroom), I heard all the girls scream. I was like, what the .... and these group of young lads passed by in front of me with the look of grin in their faces, they were probably flattered with all the attention. One just looked at me and wondered why I was unfazed. I swear I did not know them and they were not that handsome or exceptionally uncommon.

Anyways, to cut the story of the Cueshe short, I called up my cousin Bea and asked her who her crush is with the Cueshe, she said Ruben or Rowell? I said okay, stay on the line and I will let you speak with him. I asked almost every member of the band if he was Ruben and when I finally got to him, I said hello and asked him if he could speak with my cousin who is one of his avid fans. She is in Manila, he is in Abu Dhabi. My cousin was screaming shrieks on the phone. They chatted for like 10 minutes or so. I had a photo of him and I taken. Well, it was a good thing I made someone go over the moon that night.

One night, two events. It was a lovely time. That was on Thursday, 11 May 2006.

Cheers!
