Get Lost

How many times in our lives have we gotten lost? From minor situations whether it be driving on to the place where we were supposed to go, find the right road, being in the right place, or on to immensely bigger scales as to finding the right person to be with.

Imagine the time you have spent on going into the wrong direction, finding your way out and eventually reaching to the place where you are supposed to be or missing an entire event because of reasons of delay, madness, irritation. If we spend 30 minutes a day getting lost, multiply that by the number of days and years in our lives, we must have lost a great deal of time. Given it was only for locating places, getting where you are supposed to be, the frustration, the vehemence, the anger, the inconvenience, the time wasted, the effort spent. But what if it was something so quagmire as landing in the wrong job, being married to the wrong person, spending an entire seven years with someone to find out it was a mistake? People suffer, the mire doesn't hold us, we hold it, but why? Is there a reason for it? Why do some people take so much time to find out if they are lost? I know for a fact or maybe by experience, let's say, that some people, although they know they are lost, they were not meant to be there, they are not supposed to be with someone, they stay, they linger they hold on, hoping something better will come out of it. Maybe it will become what they want it to be. Its a shame I know but sometimes people cannot have choices and if they do have choices, their options are worse than their situation. Sometimes people just risk it because they cannot take the "being lost" experience but others just get glued. Some get out of it unscathed, others victorious, others just maybe apparently worse than what they expected. Life is weird really.

Sometimes in the woods, when we get lost, we even like it because we are at one with something fragile, something that moves us, sometimes we like getting lost because of the company too. I once was lost with someone and I was at first slightly irritated but I liked it because of the company. It meant being able to spend more time alone with someone.

Is getting lost a disease? A malfunction of the brain? Or is it that the person is totally out of focus that he would not bother to take time to think where he is headed to?

I searched some on the net on getting lost or forgetting. I cannot find much though. But here are some links:

Memory
All About Forgetting and Learning
The Forgetting (Alzheimers Disease)
Remembering and Forgetting
Forget About Forgetting
Forgetting Curve

Why do people get lost? Do we do it intentionally? I am still searching.......

God bless those who are lost, may they find their way... fast!
